Climb

Three climbing sites and a slackline course are open—subject to certain conditions—to both amateur and experienced climbers in Yvoir, Durnal, and Spontin. All are managed by the Klim en Bergsporten federatie (KBF) and require prior registration with the KBF to ensure a pleasant experience.

Yvoir - Le Rocher du Paradou

This very popular site, accessible by train (a 20-minute walk from the Yvoir or Godinne train station) and by bike, features approximately 130 routes, mainly grade 4 and 5, almost all on slabs of compact limestone reaching a height of 40 meters. The site offers an ideal environment for beginner climbers as well as more experienced slab climbers. Thanks to its south-facing exposure, Yvoir is also an excellent winter climbing spot.

Please note: Accessible only during daylight hours, Le Paradou can get very crowded on weekends, as many climbing clubs and schools come here to train.

Durnal - Chansin

Nestled in a quiet spot in the Bocq Valley, between Dorinne and Durnal, this former sandstone quarry is perfect for learning to climb, with routes mainly at levels 4 and 5, but there is an occasional risk of falling rock fragments. Wearing a helmet is therefore mandatory.

Spontin - La Rochette

This former quarry offers spectacular scenery, and at a height of 15 meters, it’s an ideal spot to learn to climb in a breathtaking setting where you can also try slacklining. Please note: the highline area is closed every year from February 1 through July 15 due to the eagle owl’s breeding season. Do not try to disturb it—there is a real risk of attack!
